What do you guys think of Paparazzi ?

HAHAHAHA at the End of the video, you can hear the pap saying: "No, Thats Rude, Putting a racket in my face is rude.." i think it was John or Shannon that did that

Well, I have a couple things to say on this subject lol I wouldn't punch them if I was her, or do anything drastic like that because it's what they want. That's exactly why they're trying to put these stars in the worst positions possible, so that they react in a negative way because then the paps will get more money. Rather than just "Katy leaving the gym", if they have "Katy punching pap while leaving gym" they'll obviously get more money for the latter.

I consider it all a form of stalking and I don't think it's ethical. They have no respect for the celebrity they're following and could care less about the safety of others in their "hunt." As much as I would LOVE to see stricter laws against this type of disgusting behavior, I don't think we will. The law also gives freedom to the press, and if anyone tries to limit that in any way, then all hell will break loose... there need to be restrictions on their conduct though. These people are ruthless and will stop at nothing to get their money shot, even if it means putting someones life in jeopardy. I think they need to be penalized for their actions, especially if they hurt anyone in the process of pursuing a celebrity. Honestly, if any of us openly acted that way in our jobs I'm sure we'd be fired by now. Unfortunately, those paps who are the most thoughtless often receive the highest reward for their photographs... 

If the paparazzi is allowed to over step their boundaries like this, we should express our freedom of speech and say something about it. If you don't like it, take a stand. The more people who oppose their behavior, the more likely it is that someone will hear us and do something about it. If you're ever in an uncomfortable position because of them, make it known. Seriously, if these people ever dare to touch me or even push me at an event, things are getting real.

Also, to anyone that says "it's their job," it's not like they're forced to do this. They have other options. I don't care what anyone says, there are always other options. The reason they choose this path is because it makes the most money for the least amount of effort.

For instance, they don't just take pictures of Katy from afar, they get right up in her face. That is rude and the paparazzi don't let any celebrities have privacy. The Continent has laws on "portrait right" or "image right". It limits the publications of pictures of persons.

In the US we basically just have personality rights (which vary state to state), that help a person control their image when it comes to commercial use. So in advertising or marketing, you can't use someone's name, face or voice etc. without their permission to promote your product. However, we also have the Fair Use doctrine under copyright law which would allow the media to use celebrity photographs as long as it's for commentary or news reporting purposes (there are other factors involved as well). So even though it's a good thing that people are not allowed to profit off of a celebrity's face or name, we can publish photos of them leaving a doctor's office or of a secret wedding. Now, I'm just saying this based on what I've seen in the media here in the states because I can't speak for anything outside of this country lol but I definitely feel that we need to have more limitations on certain things (especially when running private celebrity photos). Unfortunately, I don't think that will be happening any time soon... And it's a shame because this whole paparazzi business has become unethical.

It really bothers me how the paparazzis have like no boundries or feelings towards these celebs. I feel like the paps don't even realize that celebs are just humans too. I really think they should put themselves in the celebrity's shoes, and try to think how they would like it to be surrounded by a million people taking flash pictures and screaming their name. Paps are rude and disgusting...
On a different note, Katy does such an amazing job at handling the paps. She always stays calm and that must be a really difficult thing to do.

I'm always undecided with paps. I mean they are so ruthless and horrible, but when you think about it, behind every camera lens is a person. And while, yes not every person has a reason to be so disgusting and horrid, I'm sure some do (they might need money for something reasonable e.g medical purposes etc). I know that either way what they do is completely and utterly inexcusable but I think you all understand what I mean. Anyways, I think there should definitely be more laws in place about papping. They just aggravate the celeb as much as they can because the more the celeb loses their temper, the more money the videos/pictures are worth. At this moment in time, I guess all we can do is be glad Katy has a strong and level minded head on her shoulders.

That's insane, I mean it makes you think... could someone be that desperate to get a shot of a car (which apparently Justin Bieber wasn't even in)... It's sad really not just because someone died, but the fact that so many people in the world are desperate to see photos of absolutely every aspect of a celebrity's life and people are risking their own lives to feed this silly habit.

Im never sure about the paps, some of them can be lovely & do allow celebs personal space, but yet there's some that don't give a f**k about celebs & are only in it for the money, they're the ones that I hate. Celebs are people with feelings too, they might not like having a camera stuck up in their faces, they deserve space. If a pap takes like one or two photos from a reasonable distance & the celeb is fine with that then I don't seen anything wrong, but it's when they have the camera stuck in their faces, like when Katy was going home from the airport & Tamra asked them to give her space a number of times & they refused to listen, they're the ones I hate.

I heard about it. It's sad he was killed but also he was stupid for what he did. Paparazzi are scum.

the papz are willing to go to extreme lengths even just to get a photo of a car, it's actually kinda scary...

Not to say they are the same thing, but I'm a hardcore member of my yearbook and I see both views on this.


Pap side:
They're just doing their job.
They need to make money to live like the rest of us.
They're human too .-.


Celeb side:
They deserve privacy.
No one wants to be stared at 24/7
They knew when they became famous this was a downside.


Now, not to say there aren't some extreme pap a*holes out there. But generally, as long as they keep their space and don't shove the camera right up in their face or take any inappropriate photos or photos where they really shouldn't be, I'm usually fine with the papas.
