The world annoys me. Take a look at this:
http://ca.celebrity.yahoo.com/video/katy-perry-blasted-changing-beatles-061211897.html

How is she getting blasted for doing something that countless musicians have done. When singing a song by an artist who is the opposite gender it only makes sense to change it. It makes no sense for her (a woman) to sing "man" instead of "girl" and "he" instead of "she"
That's stupid. Katy didn't change the song much at all and she did a beautiful job and it fit her voice very well.  I'll bet Paul and Ringo were proud!
Never grow up!

I watched it and like I already said, I thought it was a great performance. But for the most part, people all over the internet have been bashing her. Granted, there are assholes all over the web, but I was surprised that some people thought she didn't sound good.

By the way, there are few things I love more than Katy, but in the past, I will agree and say some of her performances have something left to be desired, but since she was on Alan Carr and Ellen, every performance has been what I would consider outstanding.

I missed it, so THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS!!

And screw the haters. They don't matter. We know her personality, and those idiots don't. They all wish that they had been there last night. Let's all tweet her and tell her how great she did!!

They make it sound like she rewrote entire lines rather than just change the pronouns.

I know we're all pretty biased because it's obvious we all adore Katy, but I literally burst into tears the first time I heard this tonight. Maybe it hit a little too close to home, but my goodness. Her voice is so powerful and fragile at the same time. I don't understand how anyone could criticize it. She sounded so beautiful. People swap gender in song lyrics all the time. It's always something, I suppose.

But bravo, Katybird.  :flowerpower:

She did a beautiful cover of Yesterday. Her vocals were absolutely perfect. A really amazing performance by her, she's always at her best when she's singing acoustic, makes me mad when people say she can't sing live, they really have to check this performance!

I've heard of people complaining about the whole show in general. I guess Beatles fans didn't like the idea of having newer generation artists performing their songs.

I thought her rendition of Yesterday was amazing. Haters gonna hate. I think she's pretty good at brushing them off by now so let's do the same.  :kittypurry:
“Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let pain make you hate. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness. Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place.” — Kurt Vonnegut

Wow, I'm speechless. One of her best performances ever in my opinion. Her vocals were completely on point and it just sounded so beautiful. It also helps it is one of my most favorite Beatles songs!
