I have no problem witih Jessie J's voice, I just don't think it sounds anything at all like Katy's voice, despite what some people here seem to say.

I don't really think people say those particular things about Katy's voice, if people say Katy screeches I honestly have no idea what they're talking about. http://youtu.be/j2WWrupMBAE I've never heard Katy make the noise Jessie does at 0:59. I'd probably like this song if it wasn't for the (imo) horrible noises she makes and generally just being a bit overdramatic with her voice... kind of shouting a lot.
Very sexy noises, kind of audioorgasmic

:) She gave me my guitar back...

For those of you in the UK: Does Cheryl Cole have a voice similar to Katy?  She's not marketed here in the US, so I don't really know what she sounds like.

no, not at all

I think they're screechy, unnecessary and painful to listen to. But then again, I love Florence Welch's voice, and people say she's a shouter too (but she's not a screecher).

this is called a signature. doesn't seem to do much but I think it secretly has a superpower it uses when I'm not looking. just a feeling.

I could never understand why people who don't like Katy claim that all she does is scream.  In what songs does she scream?  I'm not aware of any.  I keep asking, but they won't answer.

I never heard people comparing Jessie J with Katy until Domino. Domino was produced by Dr. Luke, Max Martin etc so I just presumed it was the song rather than Jessie herself, since the song does have that certain Dr Luke element found in Teenage Dream and now Birthday.
With any other song by Jessie I just can't see any similarities at all since Jessie uses her voice very differently to Katy's.

When I first heard the Windows 8 advert with a snippet of Sara Bareilles song' Brave' I had to stop for a minute because it sounded like Katy Perry.

I know it's not Katy, but Sara's voice sounds a little similar in the little snippet they use on the advert.

If you skip to 43 seconds of the above video and listen up to 48 seconds , you may know what I mean by it sounding a little like Katy (or you may totally disagree! lol)

Definitely one of Katy's best acoustic performances, her vocals were just absolutely perfect, more people must see this!

That Alan Carr performance did make my jaw drop. Probably my favourite acoustic set to date!

Jessie J.  :) Just listen to Domino, you could almost swear Katy was singing it.

Yes, I agree.
i love both katy and jessie but i honestly don't think domino sounds like katy! but sometimes if i'm listening to a song but not paying attention to who's singing i'll get confused between them

I know this sounds crazy, but does anyone think Christina Perri has a voice similar to Katy, and not because of the similarities of their names?  When I first heard Christina's song "I'm only human", I was at first wondering if it was a new Katy Perry song, but then it occurred to me that since I have the entire Prism album, I won't be hearing any new Katy songs for a long time.  Interestingly, when the radio station that I listen to plays that song, they often follow it by a Katy song.
