Album 3 - Rumour, Speculation and News.

Q: So at this point are you even thinking about the next album?
A: I have lots of songs and ideas. I know exactly the record I want to make next. I know the artwork, the coloring and the tone, but I'm not in the studio yet. So it's a little like painting the baby's room blue before knowing it's actually a boy. I have to let the music take shape first. I even know what type of tour I'm doing next. I'll be very pleased if the vision I have in my head becomes a reality. But I have to honor the music.

I won't try and duplicate what I did last time. That would be silly. It's not of any interest for me to try and outdo myself at every corner. Eventually you just like pop, explode. It's like a Jenga game. How tall can you get before you just fall the fuck over?

I am doing little things here and there. I was just in the studio with another artist and it turned out all right. I'm going to start dusting off the wheels just a little: [I'm] going in with a couple of people in November and try out fun collaborations that maybe people wouldn't imagine.

So, with the changes to her twitter and given things we already know, what if Katy named the new album "Katybird" and it was acoustic and maybe a little rock. I think I might die if it happens!

It sounds brilliant, but it wont happen, unfortunately. There's no way the next album is going to be acoustic, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a bonus disc of acoustic versions of chosen songs from all 3 albums as a 'Fan Edition' of the album or whatever. Which would be awesome. 

I had a look around earlier today, and I *think* she changed her twitter background to the Candyland image back in January 2010, which as we all know turned out to be the era theme and the inspiration for the California Gurls video. So I'm betting the next era is Nature/Bird/Free/Flying/etc themed, which sounds to me like a nice change from the food stuffs! Of course, it could be a coincidence, but I wouldn't put it past her to already be hinting about stuff!

I'd love to guess and speculate about the new album, but lets be fair, we probably don't have a clue  The new album theme is probably something random like unicorns and mystical things like in Wide Awake    or weather.. haha with Katy it literally could be anything! That's something I love about her! You never expect what's coming!

I mean, she's Katy!! lol. She has recently talked about how her "saturn returns" so that's why I think the album will be very mature. She also talked about how she feels a 1970s vibe coming to music, which is a very laid back sound which I am SUPER excited about.

But in all seriousness, 70s music type, I'm hopefully wishing doesn't include disco  , would mean back to the basics of guitars, drums. No autotune, no pushing a button to make music .-.    Katy is one of the few modern artists that I LOVE. I also love the simplistic meanings to the lyrics. Nothing too much, such good music.
