The Official Katy Perry Discography and Music List

Part 2: Unreleased Albums and Songs, Collaborations, Covers, Unrecorded Songs and All Other Music

Part 1: Discography (Officially Released Albums and Singles)
http://katyperryforum.com/index.php?topic=11105.msg720098#msg720098

Part 3: Music Video List http://katyperryforum.com/index.php?topic=11105.msg721294#msg721294

Promotional and Sampler CD's
Criteria:
-Mainly recorded in studio
-Released for promotional use only

"Direct Management Group Licensing Sampler-Summer 2006" Link

15 "Box"
16 "Fingerprints"

Unreleased Albums
Criteria:
-All songs are studio recordings or were written for the album but not recorded.
-Release of album was canceled by the record label before completion.

NOTE: Katy wrote and recorded a large number of songs between 2002-06 for these albums.

"(A) Katy Perry" (AKA "The Glen Ballard Sessions") Link  Link
Island/Def Jam Records
Java Records
Aerowave Productions
Writing and recording 2002-04
Rumored planned release August 18, 2005? Link
The actual title is not known and I believe it is probably self titled. No known cover art exists.

The known track list for (A) Katy Perry is:

01. "Box" (or "The Box")
02. "Diamonds"
03. "Hook Up" (or "I Don't Hook Up")
04. "LA Don't Take It Away"
05. "Long Shot"
06. "Oh Love Let Me Sleep"
07. "It's Okay to Believe"
08. "Sherlock Holmes"
09. "Simple"
10. "Takes One to Know One"
11. "Wish You the Worst" (also known as "Wishing You the Worst")
12. "Better Half of Me"
13. "Weigh Me Down"

Other songs written/recorded during this era:
"I Can"
"Agree to Disagree"
"The First Time" (AKA "Nothing Like The First Time")
"Sex Sells (All I'm Selling Is Sex)"
"A Cup of Coffee"
"Watch Me Walk Away"
"Am I Wrong"
"Now That It's Over"
"In Between"
"R.I.P."
"Sleeping In on a Saturday"
"Thinking of You"
"Waking Up in Vegas"
"Lost"
"I'm Still Breathing"
"Fingerprints"
"If You Can Afford Me"
"Self Inflicted"

Tracks 4, 6 and 8 are known songs written by Katy but recordings don't exist on the internet.

All tracks that are known to exist are produced by Glen Ballard so this track list makes sense.

"Simple" was officially released as part of the "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" soundtrack in 2005.

Someone on the forum claimed they had "LA Don't Take it Away". Link

Katy talked about "Sherlock Holmes" on the forum. Link

"Fingerprints"
Columbia Records
Writing and recording 2002-06?
Planned release Spring or Summer 2007 Link

This album is basically a continuation of the canceled ("A) Katy Perry" project.

The actual track list for this album is not known but likely included most of these. Some are from the 2002-04 sessions. Eight of the songs are included on the "One of the Boys" album. Link

-"Fingerprints"
-"One of the Boys" *
-"Thinking of You"
-"I'm Still Breathing"
-"Self Inflicted"
-"Waking Up In Vegas"
-"If You Can Afford Me"
-"Lost"
-"A Cup of Coffee"
-"I Think I'm Ready"
-Wish You the Worst"
-"Box"
-"The Driveway"
-"Long Shot" (New Mix)
-"Hook Up"

* There is some debate of whether "One of the Boys" was written/recorded for this album or was written/recorded for the "One of the Boys" album.

All songs that made it onto "One of the Boys" are from 2005 or earlier.

Thanks :) That list sure needs a lot of work doesn't it?

I'm working on this now so I'll change that as long as I'm here.

Changes I made:
Added Prism
Added North Star, Had a Heart, Bad Photographs, Passenger and Are You Tipping?

Are You Tipping? credits Kara Diogaurdi as a writer, same as Hook Up, which indicates it could be an older song.

Moved Don't Worry and moved it to the Demos section and indicated it's a demo of Trust In Me.
Made other minor changes as well.

Another correction I made: I checked ASCAP records and have concluded Agree to Disagree is not a Matrix song. It is from around 2004 though.

I'm doing a major overhaul of the discography. It needs to be reorganized and will take a while. Some of the original discography is a bit confusing. Also, there is a lot of unreleased and unrecorded music listed on here and I will try organize that by different periods of time.

If there's anything that needs to be added or changed please let me know.

Major changes so far:
Added Prism
Added 4 unused/rumored songs for Prism
Added Are You Tipping?
Added Who You Love under singles
Added the track lists for all known versions of OOTB including the coveted Platinum Australian Tour Edition.
Added the track lists for all known versions of Teenage Dream.
Added the release dates for all officially released albums.
Added the track/scene list for the MTV Unplugged DVD
Several other minor changes.
Added a section for Unreleased Albums, also added the two albums from 2003-04 and 2005-06 to that section

After these additions the discography is now split in two parts. The forum has a limit on characters per post and I went over. They are in consecutive posts so they are together in one spot.

Also, "Speak Louder" is listed under Katy Hudson... was it always like that?

Hahaha, by the way, since posting this, I confirmed "Speak louder" was written when she was going by Katy Hudson. What's interesting about this is it was never recorded beyond sputtering lyrics around on paper and whatever audio recording they had back then. The person I spoke to said that even IF he could let me hear what became of it (legal issues, hmph? lol), it would be all over the place and far from concise.

The things I learn... ;)
I was just going through Katy's ASCAP accounts again.

"End Up This Way" and "Remember Love' are also under Katy Hudson and all three name Edwin Trey Bruce was a writer. No recordings exist as far as I know.

Can I just say that it's so refreshing and cool to see a fanbase that isn't obsessed with "hoarding" unreleased music?? I'm a member of a number of other forums and it's like taboo to ask other members for info on unreleased music and where to listen to it. I ALWAYS come and visit this list periodically to see if I've missed any songs and it's so handy to have as a reference. Katycats are the best  :flowerpower:

It's weird that like years after songs were recorded they leak or new versions leak..makes me wonder what other Katy songs or versions of already leaked songs are out there.. :P

I really like the talking bridge actually... it's like TIHWD's older sibling.

If one day when Katy retires from the spotlight, I would beg her to leak Sherlock Holmes and the L.A. song. She said those were her favorites, didn't she?
