FAQ for Katyperryforum.com compiled by the staff!
(See next reply post for FAQ on Katy Perry)When did Katyperryforum.com begin?
March 2008. But it took a bit longer to open officially. Who is the staff of Katyperryforum.com?
The forum was created by AKateisaKate and Faline (Admins). The current moderators are Ingie, LazyBlazy, and CottonCandy. Olivia maintains our KP events calendar. When should I contact the staff?
When you have any question regarding the forum, need a thread you've created to be closed, notice there is a repeat thread, or want to ask if certain material is okay to post, you can contact the staff.
Also when you have a problem with another user, immediately contact a staff member so we can try to solve it. Of course when you have another problem you do not want to post on the forum, feel free to contact the staff. Is there a way to contact them other than PM?
You can also email the KPF staff at email@example.comWhen do people get banned?
There are various reasons why someone gets banned, although it's something that barely occurs. Of course, spammers will immediately be banned without further notice. We prefer not to ban users, but sometimes we have to. When after repeatedly ignoring the staff's warnings, the user still violates the rules, the consequence will be a ban. Usually, 3 warnings will be sent to an user before the staff decides if the person will get banned. Why are threads closed, merged, or moved?
If a staff member feels you are violating the rules or the nature of the thread is inappropriate, it may be closed.
A thread will be merged with another thread when it is a duplicate of information. With such a busy forum, we need to try to keep this place clean and easy to navigate. We don't want to have to merge 5 threads together of the same topic, but we may have to! Please check to see if what your posting has been posted in a similar topic already. See Search function.
A thread may be moved when it is posted in the wrong section, also for organization. When is it appropriate to make a new thread?
Sometime we want to share random tidbits of information with eachother, but it's not always necessary to make a whole thread for that. Like if you hear Katy's song paying in a store and you're super excited, or if you saw something random... There are "random" threads that are appropriate for that. For example, the "Discuss." thread is General Discussion.
Making a whole new thread does take up more bandwidth than necessary, so please be thoughtful of this when you want to share. Talk all you want! Please just keep the organization of the forum in mind. :heart:What are KatyCats?
A KatyCat is a superfan of Katy Perry who is a member here. The name has been made up by someone of this forum and Katy herself has approved it as a name for her fans, even thought tihs is just a completely unofficial fansite for Katy. We're just cool.
What is Maintenance Mode?
It's when Kate doesn't know what she's going and she's trying to fix a problem with the forum.
In order to avoid confusion and everyone getting errors, the forum may go in Maintenance Mode.! Any advantages being a KatyCat? !
None at all when it comes to her concerts. Being a member does NOT mean you get to come backstage. Some members have just been lucky, we do not sell or get passes for anything.
